Utopian Body (2021)

Utopian Body (2021)

This serie questions the representations of the female body by exploring classical painter Artemisia Gentileschi's work. During the XVIth century, she was raped, tortured, won her trial and became a famous italian painter.

I explored Foucault's concept that the body has no place, I have to embody it and have no choice, but in the same time it is from it that all possible places, real or utopian, emerge or radiate.

This serie is "a woman's gaze posed about women, full of tenderness and gratitude” (Mathilde Tête).
